Fans want Catherine, Fatuma rematch

WE want another rematch between Catherine Phiri and Fatuma Zarika of Kenya at a neutral venue, says Zambia Sports Fans Association (ZASPOFA) patron pastor Peter Makembo.

Reacting to Phiri’s loss to Zarika when the two boxers met for the second time in Nairobi at the weekend fight which was won by the Kenyan, Makembo told the Sun sports in an interview that the former title holder could never lose twice to the Kenyan.

“We have watched Catherine several times and we doubt that she can lose twice to Zarika because we know what our girl is capable of doing in the ring,” Makembo said.

Makembo said the country’s sports fans mother body doubted Phiri lost the fight in Kenya on Saturday.

“And that’s the more reason we are requesting for another rematch between the two boxers but this should not be held in Kenya or Zambia but at a neutral venue because we want to establish a true champion,” he said.

Makembo appealed to Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions to appeal the results of Zarika vs Phiri’s fight . “If Chris Malunga and his team does not petition that result, we are going to do that on their behalf because we believe our boxer was the best between the two.
