Tiger Feed employee convicted of theft

The Choma Magistrates Court has convicted a Tiger Animal Feeds female Depot Assistant for theft of over 785×50KG bags of Stock Feed valued at more than K250,000.

In this matter Donoria Chamango ,28, a Depot Assistant and resident of Choma’s Shampande Townahip was charged with Theft by Servant contrary to the Laws of Zambia.Particulars of the offence are that Chamanago stole 786 ×50kg Bags of Stock Feed valued at K254, 287 the property of her employer Tiger Animal Feed Limited.The thefts occurred between August 26 and September 25, 2020 in Choma district were she was stationed.When the matter came up for judgment before Court, Resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri found the accused person guilty and convicted her accordingly.Despite the accused person pleading for lenience through her lawyer Counsel Ernest Chilufya from Legal Aid Board, the Court slapped her with 12 months imprisonment, but suspended the whole sentence for 24 months.

Magistrate Phiri further ordered that that she pays back the missing money within 60 days failure to which a warrant of distress will be issued.
