A local authority official says the partnership between the private and the public sector is key to attaining meaningful development.

Lundazi District Council Public Relation Officer, Cynthia Mutalange, has also praised the business community in the district for working with the council to bring development in the area.

“We are particularly happy with the positive response we have received from the business firms on the paving of road reserves in the trading area,” she said.

In October last year, Lundazi District Council directed all shop owners in the district to pave the road reserves in their trading premises.

“And we are happy with the positive response from business firms, it’s a clear indication of the cordial relationship that exists between the council and the business community,” Ms. Mutalanga said.

She urged the business community in the district to continue partnering with the local authority on developmental programmes.

“Paving of the road reserves in the trading area has made it more conducive for business,” she said.
