THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has encouraged all taxpayers to use online services for all transactions in an effort to mitigate against the spread of Covid-19.

ZRA Corporate Communications Manager, Topsy Sikalinda said ZRA had taken positive steps to encourage clients and staff protect themselves from Covid-19.

“We are all in this together; we are all at risk regardless of nationality, race or social standing. We know your first priority is to keep your family safe and well.

“It is our priority too.  It is important that we use e-services as all ZRA services are online,” Mr Sikalinda said in his write-up on encouraging taxpayers to use the online platform.

Mr Sikalinda said his organisation’s online systems particularly Asycuda World for Customs transactions and TaxOnline for Domestic taxes had the capacity to handle all transactions online.

He explained that the system was further complimented with the phone facility which used the *858# facility for those who did not have access to internet.

“Clients are further encouraged to call the call Centre on 4111 and send emails to [email protected] for specific queries. Our highly trained teams are available to assist you.

“Our highly trained staff with capacity to handle all tax related issues on the phone will assist the taxpayer’s step by step to ensure value is obtained,” Mr Sikalinda said.

Mr Sikalinda stressed that taxpayers visiting ZRA offices, only when it was necessary, to observe strict hygiene standards such as wearing a face mask, washing hands with soap at the entrance and observing social distance of not less than one meter. “Our advice is that stay home, stay safe, avoid contacts with all people because you don’t know who they were in contact with. Let us all do the right thing by avoiding physical contacts,” he said.
