@sunzambianA 60-year-old man of Zambezi district in North-western province has been killed by his son, who is believed to be mentally

ill.

The incident occurred on Tuesday on the East bank of Zambezi district and the deceased has been identified as JosephSamukwala of Kalengwa village in chief Chinyama’s chiefdom.North-western province Commissioner of Police Elias Chushi, who confirmed the ioncident, named the suspect as KakomaSamukwala aged 26 of Kafwasa village of the same chiefdom.Mr Chushi said Mr Samukwala was hacked on the head three times by his enraged son, who used a sharp axe.“The suspect has been apprehended and confined by police officers pending further procedures while the body of the deceasedis lying in the mortuary at Zambezi District Hospital mortuary,” he said.Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man of Mitukutuku area has been arrested for having sex with his 16-year-old biological daughter.Mr Chushi said that Robert Lwenge has since 2019 been abusing his daughter but that the victim opted to keep quite dueintimidation by the father.He said the victim sustained a painful and bruised vagina.

“The suspect is in police custody and will appear in court soon,” he said.
