Chellah Tukuta

NOEL IYOMBWA writes

LUSAKA based photographer Chellah Tukuta has been transferred to the Copperbelt to answer other charges.

Tukuta was last week arrested in Lusaka and charged with four counts criminal libel.

Acting police spokesperson Danny Mwale confirmed the development in a telephone interview.

Mr. Mwale said that the suspect was transferred to the Copperbelt on Monday morning to face other charges, but he however did not disclose how many charges the suspect is facing on the Copperbelt.

“Yes I can confirm that Tukuta has been transferred to the Copperbeltso that he answers to other charges but I cannot confirm what types of charges he is facing for now,” Mr Mwale said.

Some few weeks ago videos of Tukuta and a coloured woman known as Chrisha Frost sharing light moments went viral on Facebook.

However Tukuta abandoned the woman and claimed that she was unstable, an allegation that she refuted but instead disclosed that Tukutashe had lent K20,000 to Chellah.

Tukuta’s arrest is in connection with derogatory remarks, allegedly produced by Mr Tukuta and posted on his social media page against Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Dora Siliya and several other people.

The suspect also posted alleged derogatory remarks against Zambia Revenue Authority, ZRA, Commissioner-General, Kingsley Chanda, Northern Province Permanent Secretary, Charles Sipanje and former Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations, Amos Chanda.
