ZANACO Football Club, the six times local super league champions, plans to renovate its Sunset Stadium before the end of the 2019 soccer season.
General Manager, Marlon Kananda, disclosed to The Sun in an interview, that the club will erect new terraces at the soccer facility to enable soccer fans watch matches in comfort.
”We are talking to potential sponsors because we need finances,” Kananda said.
He appealed to soccer fans to support the club’s projects through buying of tickets to its football matches.
“Imagine how much we would raise if 500 fans paid a K20 each for a game and even bring along friends,” he said.
“We have also written to all our colleagues in the Super league to encourage them to buy tickets for their fans from other towns whenever there are matches here, just like we do for ours,” said Mr. Kananda.
He appealed to soccer fans to continue supporting the club saying that Zanaco would maintain its glory through featuring in the continental league.
He said the club will not discriminate amongst soccer fans because its intention is attracts as many soccer fans as possible particularly from Lusaka.
ZANACO finished 5th during the last season and missed a sport in the continental league, having failed to retain a position in the 2018 Top 8 tournament. The team was however, free scoring in all its first three games, in stream A of the 2019 transitional league.
