BUUMBA CHIMBULU writes

STANDARD Chartered Bank Zambia has for the seventh consecutive year now been named Best Consumer Digital Bank in Zambia by the prestigious Global Finance Awards.

The Bank has won this award this year, making it the seventh time.

Speaking on the award, Standard Chartered Bank Zambia’s Head of Retail Banking, DeepPal Singh, said the institution had proved, through this award that it continued to be the leading digital bank in the country in providing innovation and convenience to clients.

Mr Singh said in a statement that over 70 client services were currently being seamlessly integrated and executable on the SC Mobile App.

“In as much as it is a celebration of our team’s dedication and execution of our strategy, it remains a testament of our resolve to providing a truly end to end digital bank that services our clients whenever and wherever they may be across the country.

“To date, we remain the only truly digital retail bank in Zambia that continues to pioneer and lead the digital migration of banking services by offering digital integration across our products,” he said.

Mr Singh said the Bank continued to keep its thumb on the digital pulse by bringing additional services to the digital platforms, such as Member-Get-Member referral code now available on SC Mobile App.

He said the reward therefore was simply an appreciation for referring a new client to the bank digitally.

“Gone are the days when clients walked into a branch to open an account or request for a service. All this is now done digitally from the comfort of their homes or offices,” he said.

Standard Chartered Bank continues to implement its digitisation strategy, which has seen clients open a bank account end-to-end digitally without the need to visit a physical branch – this is a first in the market.
