Two security officers and a driver have been charged for allegedly stealing sausage worth K1, 090.

And a dog handler has been charged with one count of stealing a Boerboel dog valued at K20, 000.

Those charged for the sausage theft are Innocent Chisha, 42, a driver, and two security officers Mathews Mazimba, 35, and Charles Mweene, 45.

Particulars of offence are that on January 30, 2019, the trio jointly and whilst acting together with others unknown, stole 37.6 kilogrammes of sausage valued at K1, 090, property of Shoprite.

When the case came up for allocation before Principal Resident Magistrate David Simusamba yesterday, Chisha was not present before court and he only sent a representative but his co-accused were in court.

The case has since been allocated to Lusaka Magistrate Faides Hamaundu.

Meanwhile, a dog handler has been charged for allegedly stealing a Boerboel dog worth K20, 000, property of Vernon Kundaweya. According to some dog breeders, a puppy Boerboel costs between US$500 and US$3,000.

Particulars of offence are that Mumbi allegedly stole the dog on February 7, 2019.

The case has since been allocated to Magistrate Sheila Mweene.
