A PASTOR of Life in Christ Church in Lusaka’s Makeni Villa park John Ngulube,32 was yesterday beaten to near death after he was allegedly found committing adultery with his neighbour’s wife. Pastor Ngulube met his fate after he was allegedly found kissing his neighbor’s wife who had gone to the church for morning prayers. The husband of the woman, Moses Mpondela told the Sun that his wife left the house around 05:40 for her usual ‘morning prayers’ but he later decided to follow her after 30 minutes. Mr Mpondela said after he followed his wife he discovered that the church was quiet and decided to enter the premises to check. “My wife left the house around 05:30hours for her morning prayers which I always had doubts about; after she left I followed her only to find the church quiet,” he said. “When I entered the church I saw my wife half naked and the pastor kissing her on the lips that’s when I started shouting ‘Hule Hule! And the people came and started beating the pastor,” Mpondela said. The Pastor was only rescued by a bus driver and his conductor who were on their way to town to take marketeers to Soweto market. However, when reached for a comment, Pastor Ngulube denied committing adultery with Mr. Mpondela’s wife. He said that he was not infact kissing the woman when the husband found them but praying for her and placed his hands on her head. The Pastor claimed Mr Mpondela just had a grudge against him because he always suspected that he slept with his wife even before she started going to his church. “I’m innocent and all these people beating me don’t know the truth. I wasn’t committing adultery with this woman. I was only praying for her, Mr Ngulube has always wanted to see me hurt, anyway God will revenge for me,” said Pastor Ngulube. The woman has been identified as Mwansa Musonda, a marketeer and mother of four who trades at Soweto Market.

A check at the nearest Kanyama police station revealed that the police were yet to be informed about the incident.
