ZAMBIA Super League side Napsa Stars have upped the training regimen ahead of the 17 October season kick-off with the squad having travelled to Livingstone for a 10-day pre-season training. The technical bench decided on Livingstone, following last year’s outing that saw the team gel well with a top four finish in the 2019/20 FAZ MTN Super Division League. The Pensioners will be making their debut in continental football and have recently unveiled a series of local and international signings.Former Nkana FC and Kansanshi Dynamos midfielder Jacob Ngulube and Kenyan talisman Timothy ‘Big Tim’ Otieno were part of the squad in intensive training. The new signings join the likes of Emmanuel Mayuka, Collins Sikombe, Keegan Zulu, Aaron Kabwe, Amos Simwanza, Dickson Chapa and Simon Nkhata who have been seen hard at work. The team arrived in Livingstone over the weekend with the technical bench focusing more on team physical fitness, while abiding by Covid-19 preventive measures.Striker Laudit Mavugo who has been out of action for a while is back in training with physical trainer coach Donwell Yobe guiding his return to free-scoring fitness. The technical bench are taking advantage of the facilities and past experience in Livingstone.

“We were here last year and it gave us good mileage for the team … Our target as a technical bench is to achieve optimal fitness,” Yobe said.
