RABECCA BANDA writes THE Boma Local court has failed to reconcile a ‘problematic’ man of Lusaka with 9 kids from different women with a woman of his life because did not pay dowry for her. Richard Tembo,42,of Chilanga Game and Fisheries was sued Christine Mwaba,31, of the same area for reconciliation. Mwaba said they started staying together between 2015 and 2016 and that although Tembo’s relatives paid K500 after he took her to his home, he did not pay dowry. “He wanted marriage but I wasn’t ready at that time. He then shifted into my house as a sign he wanted to marry me,” “But disputes started almost immediately he shifted into my house. I discovered from his biological children that he was a problem, that he had nine children from different women, “People advised me that to solve the problems, I should conceive of which I did. I am three months pregnant now,” Mwaba said. She said when Tembo discovered that she was pregnant he became more hostile and chased her from his house. “I want the court to reconcile us, to help me and my husband stay together ”Mwaba pleaded. The two were appearing before presiding local court magistrate Gaston Kalama. Tembo said he was in the process of paying dowry but the problem he faced with his lover was that she would leave home for three months and rent a house somewhere else. “I did not pay dowry and because of that she did not want to be controlled. We can only stay together when I pay dowry,” Tembo said. But the reconciliation failed due to non-payment of dowry.

The court also advised Mwaba to sue for property to get what belonged to her.
