NDOLA District Commissioner (DC), Anthony Katongo, has appealed to all stakeholders to help in keeping the city clean.

He said it was worrying to see the city slowly accepting dumping sites even in places that are not designated for such.

Mr Katongo said in an interview that the clergy should join in sensitizing their congregants on the importance of cleanliness as cleanliness is next to Godliness.

He said ‘Keeping Zambia Clean Green and Healthy’ as per presidential pronouncements was a responsibility of everyone.

The DC called on the local business houses to ensure that their trading places were clean all the time.

Mr Katongo said that his office has written to residents on Independence Way to cut the grass around their premises and keep the surroundings clean. He added that his office and the Ndola City Council were working hand in hand to ensure that the district is rid of all dirt. Mr Katongo further appealed to stakeholders with plans of how best to restore the beauty of the city of Ndola to its original status to visit his office and share ideas.
