Speaking when he featured on Sport 5 radio programme on 5FM on Wednesday morning, Zulu said that people should not look at his age including of those who were there before him but instead look at what he possessed and was bringing to the table.

He said he had an opportunity to listen to FAZ president Andrew Kamanga outline the association’s vision and that was what he believed fitted in the vision of FAZ.

Zulu said Zambia still had structures at youth level and what remained was for his office to implement and make to use the youth structures.

“There is a youth structure at the moment in terms of competition such as youth league which is chaired by Fletcher Gondwe,’’

“The question we should ask is that do we realize that the players that will take us to the 2030 World Cup are actually between 10 and 14 years now, and what kind of coaching are they receiving now that can ensure that we get the success that we need in 2030 and that is my job as a technical director,” said Zulu

He said that he was creating a pathway that would identify talented young people that can represent the Country and give it the results that it needs as a country at international level.

He observed that most of the coaches at the grassroots were passionate but were not adequately trained to do so.

He said that his office was doing a study to find out how many coaches in the youth leagues were trained and to what level.

Zulu further said that his department was going to ensure that it gave adequate training to coaches in the youth leagues because they were the ones preparing players that would give Zambia the success it was looking for in many years to come.

He said his office would decentralize the technical directorate department where each province would have its own office.
