First Lady donates mealie meal

FIRST Lady Esther Lungu has donated 500 bags of mealie meal each weighing 12.5 kilogrammes to the vulnerable elderly and children-headed households in Mulobezi District.

Ms Lungu also donated cooking oil.North-Western Province Minister, Nathaniel Mubukwanu, delivered the items on behalf of the First LadyThe mealie meal and cooking oil were dispatched to Sichili awaiting to be distributed to the beneficiaries.In a statement, Mr Mubukwanu, said the targeted beneficiaries were 500 in total, who were vulnerable elderly and child-headed households.“We have also considered some of the weekly borders at Sichili and Mulobezi Day Secondary Schools. We are truly grateful to the First Lady, Mrs Esther Lungu for her generosity of heart.“Like her husband His Excellency, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s strong belief that ‘No one shall be left behind,’ Mulobezi too is now part of the equation. This donation is deeply appreciated,” the Minister said.

The distribution and identification of the beneficiaries is done through local churches such as the Roman Catholic Church, The United Church of Zambia, the New Apostolic Church, the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Signs and Wonders Ministry International.
