GLORIA KANGWA writes A KALUMBILA mine truck driver has sued his disrespectful and not so business-minded wife to Solwezi Local Court for divorce. Godfrey Chisenga told Magistrate Maureen Chindumba sitting with magistrate Chrispin Mutanda and magistrate Jonathan Maluti that the couple married in 2010 and have 3 children together. Chisenga said that he wanted to divorce his wife Beatrice Mwangwe because of arguments and insults which were her way of communicating to him. “This woman gives me problems every time when I give her money for business; we can’t sit and table issues because she doesn’t know how to communicate with me. All she knows are insults and threats,” he said. Chisenga further told the court that he called for her to be counselled over her behaviour but all went in vain. He wanted the marriage to end because his wife was fond of taking him to police claiming he did not support his children. In cross examination, Mwangwe who was opposed to the divorce, asked her husband what would make her start insulting or disrespecting him. Magistrate Chindumba asked Mwangwe what she had to say about the divorce and she told the court that her husband liked chatting with women on Facebook who sent him nude pictures and presently a girlfriend Clara Muleba. She said he was fond of torturing her psychologically when he noticed something wrong and never knew how to apologise. Magistrate Chindumba adjourned the case to April 24 for judgment.
