A 26-YEAR-OLD man of Ntomba ba Nyama Village in Choma has been dragged to Court on allegations of stealing 3 Cows.
In this matter Meshack Munsanda a resident of Chief Macha’s Chiefdom appeared before the Choma Magistrates Court charged with Stock Theft contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Allegations are that Munsanda stole 3 Cows valued at K12,000 the property of Auston Munsanje. When he appeared for plea before Senior Resident Magistrate Idah Mupemo, the accused person neither denied or disputed the allegations levelled against him compelling the Court to record a plea of not guilty.

Court: Have you understood the charge read to you?

Munsanda: yes.
Court: How do you plead?
Munsanda: I admit and deny.
Court: So I will record a plea of not guilty………did you take the Cows?
Munsanda: Yes
Court: Did you have any lawful authority?
Munsanda: I discussed with the old man; it was the issue to do with Lobola.
Court: That is why I said you have denied, let’s wait for the State to bring witnesses. After entering a plea of not guilty, the matter was adjourned to October 8 for trial after Public Prosecutor Dexter Kwalela made the application.

Munsanda was remanded in custody.
