CHILILABOMBWE Municipal Council has promised that it will reconsider the hiked burial site fees.
The council on September 11 2020, increased the burial fees and stated that the services would also be improved.
Fees for VIP burial sites were increased from K3000 to K 5000 while traditional burial sites, which were previously free were pegged at K30.The residents questioned the criteria used to increase the fees and stated the need for the decision to be reversed. But Chililabombwe Deputy Mayor Gift Vinkumbo said that the council would do “everything possible” to settle the matter.“We assure you that we will table the issue once again with councillors to take into consideration the cries of the people and see what can be done,” he said.

Mr Vinkumbo explained that the council was a listening one and that it wanted to see people were helped in any way possible.
