Chiengi MP conferred with honorary doctorate degree

THE Commonwealth University-London graduate school has awarded FDD Chiengi Member of Parliament, Given Katuta Mwelwa an honorary doctorate degree in Public administration. Dr Mwelwa was  conferred with an honorary doctorate degree alongside Vice President of the republic of Liberia Jewel Howard Taylor on Friday, March 29, 2019 during the leadership summit at Holiday Inn in Dubai.

 In an interview, Dr Mwelwa told the Sun newspaper that she received her doctorate degree at the leadership summit on growth and sustainability organized by the Commonwealth University- London Graduate School on Friday, March 29, 2019. She said the summit took place in the city of Dubai, the UAE from March 26th to 29th, 2019. “I am happy that I had the rare privilege of being bestowed with an honorary doctorate degree from the Commonwealth University.

 “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Commonwealth University for giving me the opportunity to receive such a prestigious award that has been given to so many great and deserving personalities such as Chief Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor the first female Vice President of Liberia among others,” Dr Mwelwa said. Dr Mwelwa also thanked her family for the support as well as  the organizers and professors for the knowledge impacted. She challenged her fellow colleagues who were awarded the same doctorate to use the knowledge and skills acquired in enhancing the quality of leadership across the world. The Summit featured more than 500 global leaders
