Boy killed as ox-cart overturns

A NIN-YEAR-OLD boy of Monze District has died in a road accident involving an Ox Cart.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo who confirmed the accident said that the incident happened on August 3 at about 0830 hours at Moonga Village in Chief Chongo of Monze District.

She identified the deceased as Alick Hasumbwe of Kwanu Village, Chief Choongo, Monze District .

“The accident happened when an ox driven Cart, on which the victim was, hit into a stone and overturnd causing the deceased to die on the spot.

“The body of the deceased has been deposited in Monze Mission hospital mortuary,” she said.

Meanwhile, police in Bauleni have picked up a body of 35 year old woman of the same area.

Ms Katongo said that Police in Lusaka received a report of suspected murder in which Olipa Sibanda aged 40 of Bauleni Compound reported that her niece Alice Nyangu of Bauleni Compound aged 35 was found dead on 02nd August, 2020 at around 11:00 hours in her house.

She said that police scene visited and police suspect the victim to have been murdered as bruises were found on her left eye among other injuries.

“Preliminary investigations have indicated that the victim had fought with her boyfriend in the night of 01 August 2020 at unknown time.

“The body is in UTH mortuary awaiting post mortem. One suspect has been picked by police. Investigations have continued,” she said.
