SUN REPORTER writes

THE burning of the local court in Ndola is retrogressive and a criminal act which competent security wings will have to investigate thoroughly, Works and Supply MInister, Sylvia Chalikosa has said.

Ms Chalikosa assured that justice would prevail as security wings would work hard to track down the culprits.

The minister who has been in Ndola and Kitwe on her on-going national wide inspection of public infrastructure, said the gutting of the Chifubu Local Court was a big setback on the justice system.

She said when she checked on the damage that she hoped that the country would not go back into the season where public infrastructure was being set on fire deliberately.

Ms Chalikosa said all documents had been destroyed in the infernal adding that there was need to advocate for storing data electronically so as to avoid losing out.

During her tour of the two towns, the Minister inspected some selected public infrastructure such as the Kitwe Teaching Hospital, Office of the District Commissioner in Kitwe, Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Copperbelt Provincial Administration in Ndola and the State Lodges in Kitwe and Ndola.

This is contained in a statement issued by Ministry Of Works And Supply public relations officer, Ndubi Mvula.
