KELVIN SICHIZYA [email protected] girls of the same family died of drowning at Kankonshi on the Chambeshi river in Kasama yesterday.Close family sources in Nkolemfumu have confirmed the incident and identified the three drowning victims as Maria Muchuma aged 16, Chiluba Muchuma 14 and Chembo Muchuma aged 12.
Chibundu Ward Councillor Kapambwe Mumba has also confirmed the incident and said the matter has since been reported to Nkolemfumu Police Post. The girls are reported to have been travelling to Kasama from Shiwa Ng’andu when they tried to cross the Chambeshi river in a canoe which capsized at Kankonshi.
