RABECCA BANDA writes

TWO Lusaka men charged with murder have been committed to the high Court.

The Director of Public Persecutions has issued a certificate to commit accused Humphrey Simbaya 24, a bricklayer of Chungaand  Isaac Mwamba,22, bricklayer of Chunga to High Court for causing the death of Nathan Muhango on May 12.

Simbaya and Mwamba appeared before Lusaka magistrate Jennipher Bwalya for explanation of the murder charge.

Public prosecutor informed the magistrate Bwalya that the Director of Public Persecutions has issued a certificate to commit Simbaya and Mwamba to the High Court and the magistrate acted on the instructions.

In count two, they are both charged with aggravated robbery. It is alleged that the accused persons jointly and whilst acting together did steal a motor vehicle valued at K31,000 property of Saili Tembo.

Simbaya and Mwamba allegedly used or threatened to use violence to steal the vehicle from Nathan Muhango.

Simbaya told Magistrate Bwalya that he has a problem with eyes and has not been taken to the clinic.

Mwamba said he has chest pains and has not received any medication.

Magistrate Bwalya said she has taken note of the application of both accused and indicated that they both receive medical attention.

Simbaya and Mwamba are reminded in custody and will be advised when they will appear in the High Court.
