WOMEN and youths of Mushili Township in Ndola have received empowerment including 600 village chickens and incubators from the Living No One Behind Foundation.
Living No One Behind Foundation Executive Director, Warren Mwambazi, his organisation had empowered 12 women groups with 600 village chicken rears.Mr Mwambazi stated that two incubators worth K45, 000 each and 20 bags of feed had been handed over to the beneficiaries.Speaking during the handover in Mushili, he said that five block-making machines worth K10, 000 had been procured for youths.Additionally, he said, 30 bags of cement and 10 tonnes of quarry dust would also be given to youths in order for them to begin production.Mr Mwambazi said the items donated would promote the lives of more than 500 youths adding that the donation was only the first phase.And representing 164 youth, Kafumotoso Multi-Purpose Cooperative Limited Chairperson, Pethius Phiri, said the donation would uplift the lives of youths and women as seen in other parts of the Copperbelt.A beneficiary, Gertrude Chisala, said the items would help put food on the table as well as empower residents of Bwana Mkubwa Constituency.Ms Chisala said she used to crush stones at a place known as chimbotela in Ndola for over 10 years to earn a living.She said the business of crushing stones had let to a number of casualties where a few friends had died.
She therefore commended Living No One Behind Foundation for uplifting the living standards of the people in the area.
