IN what should have been a typical night out, a 58-year-old Mkushi resident has been murdered after he was kicked in the abdomen during a drinking spree.
The incident occurred on Tuesday around 18:00hours in Chikupili area of Luano district.
Central province Commissioner of Police, Chola Katanga confirmed the suspected murder in an interview and identified the victim as Soyasi Mushili.
The victim was a resident of Changila Area Scheme Two of chief Chitina’s chiefdom.
Mr Katanga also identified the suspected murderer as Godfrey Kunda of the same area, who kicked the victim on the lower abdomen.
“Soyasi Nsamba Mushili aged 58 of Changila Area Scheme Two was murdered by Godfrey Kunda of the same area after being kicked on the lower abdomen.
“This was during a drinking spree and later the victim died,” Mr Katanga said.
Mr Katanga said arrest was made and that the suspect will appear in court soon.
