HOME Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo says the Zambia police service have made headways in effecting the arrest of those involved in the murder of three chinese nationals in Lusaka Makeni area last month.
Mr Kampyongo said tremendous progress have been made and the matter would be taken to the courts of law once the on-going investigations are concluded and bring the culprits to book.
“The police have made tremendous progress in pursuing the suspects, we are very grateful for the speed way in which they have effected the arrest,” said Mr Kampyongo.
He was speaking to journalist in an interview in Kabwe on Tuesday after handing over farming equipment to the Zambia Correctional Service.
And Mr Kampyongo has assured foreign nationals legally and legitimately in the country of protection.
The home affairs minister said Zambia has for a long time been known to be a country of peace and would continue to be so.
Mr Kampyongo said Zambian have and would continue to co-exist with foreign nationals who are legally in the country.
“We have been known to be a country of peace for a long time, we have looked after people here for a long time who had come for sanctuary during liberation for their countries struggle for independence,” said Mr Kampyongo.
The three Chinese nationals were viciously killed and dragged to their company warehouse which was later set on fire.
