THE gym at the OYDC Zambia Sports Development has re-opened to the public with measures put in place to avoid the possible spread of the coronavirus.
OYDC Zambia director Fred Chitangala has disclosed that only 25 people will be allowed inside the gym at any given time.
“As you may be aware that the gym has been given permission to operate, though on condition that certain measures are put in place and of course right now if you come to OYDC you are not going to get into the centre without having a temperature check by our workers at the gate, record your name, where you are going and make sure that you wash your hands right there.
“When you go to the gym there is also another point to wash hands. In terms of the gym we have only been allowed to limit patrons to not more than 25 people,” said Dr Chitangala.
OYDC has since advised the business community to utilize the centre but ensure that they make a booking in advance to avoid being barred by the 25-person limit.
Meanwhile, Dr Chitangala has announced a collaboration with Sport In Action targeted at promoting exercise called Joy for Joy.
He said the OYDC Centre was committed promoting fitness and so have made available gym equipment for public use at an affordable rate and are promoting alternative sports.
The chief executive officer said the centre is also conducting awareness programmes every Friday to help their members adapt to sports under the new normal while promoting sports activities.
