A man of Kafue has been dragged to court for assaulting a council police officer with no lawful justification.
Appearing in the Kafue magistrate court before magistrate Webby Chanda was Chimuka Hamudala accused of beating a council police hence causing bodily harm.
Facts before court are that on May 19 the victim Steven Mupeta was on duty inspecting market places making sure all necessary precautions were followed following the Corona virus pandemic.
He reached the stand of accused person. The accused couldn’t adhere to the rules and when told to do so he caused a fight. He assaulted the council police and it was members of the public who rescued him.
The victim was later taken to Kafue General Hospital and was given some medicine to ease the pain.
Hamudala accepted the charge, and court adjourned the matter to April 27 for Judgment.
