VOTED into office in 2016 Chimaliro ward Councillor in Lundazi Central Constituency Linda Ndhlovu is amongst the useful civic leaders in the country.The Patriotic Front (PF) member has shown continued resilience in meeting the needs of the vulnerable in the community.Most rural areas face challenges related to transport network and access to health and education services but the young councillor has actively engaged with the community in identifying and addressing pressing issues.
Most recently, a dam committee was mobilised by the village Headmen and Officers from the District Agriculture Coordinator Offiice (DACOs) who provided guidance on a temporal measure to avoid the Mwase dam form completely running out of water.
Born in Chipata, the young entrepreneur holds an Advanced Diploma in Tourism but has been active in development works.Most of the councillor’s activity involve community participation to ensure buy in and effective mind-set change.As an active party member, she mobilised Chimaliro ward PF members to plant the trees in support of keep Zambia clean, green and healthy Campaign. The trees were provided by His Royal highness senior Chief Mwase.Lundazi district was affected by heavy rains and in this year has benefitted from relief food.
In light of Covid-19, the councillor has ensured that beneficiaries remain safe.
