ANY kind of work can make you succeed as long as you are focused and committed to it, says 30 year old Stanley Malama, a Lusaka-based youth.
Malamaruns a mobile phone and computer shop along Lusaka’s Chachacha Road and says he earns enough monies to sustain himself and his siblings from thisbusiness venture.
In an interview with the Sun newspaper, Malama observed that the youths should be ready to engage in any kind of profitable business ventures and avoid being selective about the kind of work they can do.
He said that what is important is for them to earn money and be able to provide for themselves, siblings, and live a debt free life.
He advised the youths to endeavor to start small but with great vision and dedication to succeed.
“The problem is that most youths want to start big,” he said.
Malama said, “Stop hiding under the bed. Come out and contribute positively to solving the challenges we are faced with as youths. Way to success is through confronting and solving your problems.”
He observed that the brain of the youth operates at lightning speed, it strikes with full force when faced with a problem until the problem gets sorted.
“How do you expect the nation to develop if we brush aside issues that matter most in our lives? Whom do you expect to solve your problems if not yourself?” queried Musonda.
He called on the youth to always support one another especially when it comes to leadership and business.
“This is the reason why leaders take advantage of us and abuse us. They make fake promises which they eventually do nothing about. All we care about is sex, beer, makeup and gossip,” he observed.
He said that, “Our leaders easily ignore their promises to us with impunity because they know that we will hardly remember them. Shame!”
