A LUSAKA man has been dragged to court on allegations of vandalism of private and public property.
Appearing at the Magistrates court before magistrate Martha Miti was Abron Njovu, 23 of Mandevu compound accused of cutting a Zesco cable worth K32.33 ngwee thereby causing a power cut and inconveniencing the public.
It’s is alleged that Njovu vandalised a 10 Millimetre by 1.5 metres Zescoservice cable for power supply at independence stadium substation.
Magistrate Miti told Njovu that he was appearing in her court for explanation of the charge as it is a charge tried by the High Court.
She said Njovu will continue Appearing at the Magistrates Court awaiting instructions from the DPP.
The matter comes up on 23 June 2020 for mention and possible committal.
