Zambian female dancehall duo Davaos have praised Nigerian artiste D’Banj for encouraging them to work hard and giving them the necessary music mentorship under the Ballantine’s True Music Tour Project. Speaking in an exclusive interview to review the group’s participation in the Ballantine’s True Music Tour that was held last week on the 16th of March, Annie the other half of the duo, said D’Banj has always played a huge role in encouraging the Zambian artistes. “Ballantine’s has given us a dream come true by making it possible for us to work with D’banj. He is a good person to work with. He has given us confidence and encouraged us to work very hard. He has made us to believe more in the idea that if you work hard, you achieve,” said Annie. “If you want to be the best, you must learn from the best, and this is what is happening to us.”
And true to her words, Davaos have in the recent months enjoyed some commendable success working with one of Zambia’s best producer Kekero. Kekero produced Davaos’ hit single ‘Sunkana’ and most recently, he produced ‘Oh My Love’ which is now competing favourably on the local music charts. The song which is accompanied by an excellent video is available on various social media platforms and gives Davaos hope for a good future.
