A bishop has observed that youths in Zambia are using social media for negative things and advised that this should stop.
Speaking in an interview Bishop Able Kaela said that social media is being used to commit crimes and defame people especially political leaders in government.
He said that the Zambia police should work hand in hand with the Zambia Information and Communication Technology ZICTA in curbing social media abuse which he said that has become rampant.
Bishop Kaela said that instead of using internet in a positive way such as educational purposes, most youths are using it for bad things such as insulting leaders and other people.
“Social media abuse has become a habit among young people, they are using it for insulting leaders after being persuaded by other politicians so that they dent the image of government.
“Relevant authorities such as the Zambia police and ZICTA should take this matter serious before it is too late, “he said.
Bishop Kaela has since called on youths in the country to avoid being used as tools for violence by selfish politicians who don’t mean well to them and the country at large.
