THE Football Association of Zambia has mourned the death of National Assembly Football Club player Davie Lungu, stating that he has been lost at a prime time.
In a statement issued by FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala the association passed a meaasge of condolences to the family of the player and the team.
“FAZ has learnt with shock the death of Lungu who played as a midfielder for the 10th positioned National Division one outfit,” FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala said.
“We are sad to learn of the death of Davie Lungu who played for National Assembly. His death is particularly saddening given that he was in the prime of his playing days.”
The 27-year old player passed away on Wednesday at Chawama First Level Hospital after an illness.
Lungu joined National Assembly from Mumbwa Medics during the January 2020 transfer window.
Funeral gathering is at house # 227/19 Chimwemwe Rd in (Old) Chawama at his parent’s residence.
