EMMANUEL Mwamba has been dragged to the Choma Magistrates Court on allegations that he stole a Solar Panel valued at nearly K15, 000.In this matter, Mwamba is charged with one count of Theft contrary to section 272 of Chapter 87 of the Penal Code of the Laws of Zambia.Allegations are that the 33 years old trader of Choma, jointly and whilst acting with others unknown stole 1 Solar Panel valued at K14, 000 the property of Talent Noole.When he appeared before Magistrate Muyambango Munukayumbwa for plea, Mwamba vehemently denied the charge read against him compelling the Court to record a plea of not guilty.Court: Have you understood the charge read to you?Mwamba: I understand.Court: How do you plead?Mwamba: I deny.Court: I record a plea of not guilty.Following a plea of not guilty, the Court granted the accused person K4, 000 bail in his own recognisance with two suitable sureties to be bound in the like sum and in their recognisance.
The matter was adjourned to December 21 for commencement of trial.
