A 25-year-old man of Chikoti village in Nakonde District in Muchinga Province has been murdered by unknown people.This has been confirmed to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) by Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Engineer Joel Njase.Eng. Njase said the deceased who was staying alone was last seen on Friday around 15:00 hours watching a football match within the community and later went for beer drinking and did not return home.The Police Commissioner said the body of the deceased was discovered in a decomposed state yesterday by some passers-by who reported the matter to the police.“Information reaching the police indicates that the deceased was beaten by his friends who have all run away from the village,” Eng Njase said.
The Police Commissioner added that a docket has been opened and investigations into the matter are underway. – ZANIS
