WORLD Football Governing body FIFA has set September 1, 2020 as the date to hold a virtual conference meeting with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and football stakeholders in Zambia.
FIFA Chief Member Association Officer Veron Mosengo-Omba says this is in response to the letter dated 31st July sent by FAZ.
In statement made available to ZNBC Sports, Mosengo-Omba said the meeting will be attended by FAZ, Ministry of Sports, National Sports Council and aggrieved parties to the ongoing electoral process.
And FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala has confirmed receiving a letter from FIFA.
Kashala says he has since circulated the letter to all stakeholders, adding that FAZ is ready for the meeting.
He added that FAZ is happy that finally the meeting will be held and all stakeholders will have an opportunity to air their concerns.
Meanwhile, Football Analyst Rueben Kamanga says the meeting will end the speculations and wrangles that have emerged in Zambian football.
Kamanga says all stakeholders should attend the meeting with open minds and must put into consideration FIFA’s contributions on various issues concerning Zambian football.
He has told ZNBC Sports News in an interview that FIFA’s final verdict on the matter should be respected by all and that the meeting should also consolidate ties.
Kamanga has since urged all invited parties to attend the meeting without fail.
