A 24-year-old Ndola housewife has told a local court that she caught her husband exchanging nude pictures with his ex-wife.
She said before they got married, the man told her that everything was over between him and the ex-wife
Alinani Tembo a 24year old house of has sued her husband Arnold Sakala, a 38-year-old truck driver for divorce.
She told the court that the two of them got married in 2015 and had no children together.
Ms Tembo said she suspected her husband of still seeing his former wife but that he used to refuse until one day when she found messages and nude pictures they had exchanged.
She said they sat down as the family and sorted out their differences and continued to live together.
“In 2017 I discovered his last born child was on ARVs, but he never told me anything and yet I was the one keeping his child,” she said.
She said whenever she asked him to go for VCT, he would refuse saying that he was negative.
Ms Tembo said her husband did not spend nights with her most of the times and that one day when he came back from work, he injected her medicine which she did not know.
She said he normally injected her once every month and whenever she asked him, he only told her that it was meant to protect her from illnesses.
The case was before Kabushi local court senior presiding magistrate Agnes Mulenga sitting with Mildred Namwizye and Evelyn Nalwizya.
In his statement, Mr Sakala said he also wanted to divorce his wife as she used to hide things from him.
He said he found messages from a man where they exchanged love messages and that from the time he married her, she did not dress like a married woman.
“One day when I came back from work I found a man in the house and she was in the bedroom. When I asked what he was doing in our house, she said he just came to watch TV,” he said.
He said people would tell him that a man enters his house while he was away and sleeps with his wife but he did not want to believe.
Mr Sakala said his wife had an affair with garden boy, who lived at their servants quarter and that she admitted having sex with him on two occasions.
He said people would mock him at him saying he had money and was able to provide for his wife and yet she sleeps with a man who just worked as a garden boy.
Mr Sakala said he used to inject her with medicine to protect her because after he slept with some woman, he discovered that he had some infections.
In passing judgment, the court granted divorce with no cost as both parties were committing adultery.
