The Germany Agricultural Society is expected to take over the running the Agritech Expo in Chisamba. From 2020 through to 2024 the Agritech Expo will be managed by the German l society commonly known as DLG. This is contained in a statement issued by Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) public relations officer Calvin Kaleyi. Since inception in 2014, the Expo has been managed by Spintelligent of Cape Town in South Africa, whose umbrella body is Clarion Events of the United Kingdom. DLG is an international non-profit organisation which looked after interests of agriculture in Germany. It was founded in 1885 by Max Eyth, and had over 23,000 members as of 2011 and is headquartered in Frankfurt. DLG has been organizing trade fairs and exhibitions for the agriculture and food sector since 1885, which events, like Zambia’s Agritech Expo, serve as a forum for ideas, innovation and networking.
The organization also organised the world’s biggest agricultural machinery showpiece, the Agritechic, held once every two years, drawing a staggering 2,802 exhibitors from 52 countries, held in 23 halls and attracting more than 450,000 visitors from 130 countries of which 110,000 were international visitors.
