A WOMAN of Lusaka’s Lilanda Township has narrated to The Sun her trauma after unknown people attacked her and abducted her sister last week.
THE SUN: What is your name?
MS MWEWA: Elina Mwewa.
THE SUN: Tell us what happened?
MS MWEWA: My sister and I were going for a funeral in Serenje District last week on Tuesday.
We left home around 16:00 hours so that we could find a vehicle which was going to Serenje at Mandevu junction.
We waited up to around 20:00 hours when two men who were driving stopped and asked us where we were going.
We told them we were going to Serenje for a funeral, they told us to get in the car and that they were going to the same area.
Before the car could start off one of the men said they would first visit his sister. After some time, they made a turn going to Chingwere cemetery and I asked where they were taking us.
They told us they needed to talk to their sister before we could proceed to Serenje District.
Before long I do not know what happened and how I was beaten, I was just picked by well-wishers in Kabangwe area at a nearby bush and we have not found my sister from the time the incident happened.
The well-wishers took me to Chingwere Clinic and the health workers asked me if I knew who had assaulted me, I told them I did not know them. I have no idea what happened I just discovered that I was beaten.
I told the health workers that I was with my young sister at the time the incident happened and she was missing.
My appeal is that government, well-wishers help me to find my young sister dead or alive, and the matter was reported to the police.
